General Description Under the general direction of the Recreation Program Supervisor plans, instructs and evaluates pickleball clinics, programs, leagues, training, and all other related pickleball activities.
***Open until filled.  Interviews will be conducted as applications are received.***
Essential Functions of the Job / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
• Plan, instruct, and evaluate pickleball programs and clinics.
• Provide instructional lessons to individuals and small groups.
• Interact with participants of various ability levels and guide them towards appropriate goals.
• Monitor equipment usage and communicate needs with supervisor.
• Completes required paperwork accurately.
• Attend trainings and classes as needed.
• Adhere to all safety practices and procedures and attend all training as required.
The aforementioned functions are normal for this position. They are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• In-depth knowledge of pickleball rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Experience playing Pickleball.
• American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
• Ability to communicate both in oral and written form.
• Ability to interact with the general public.
• General computer and office skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a crew in an efficient and cooperative manner.
Education and Experience • Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Position requires a valid driver’s license.
• Position requires 2 years of pickleball experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel and occasionally requires standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work requires ability to adjust focus, depth perception and peripheral vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires exposure to wet humid conditions (non-weather) and occasionally requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
