About the College/Unit/Department
The Office of Service-Learning was established in 2005 to promote and support the development of quality academic service-learning experiences in response to critical community needs through a range of faculty and instructional development programs, services, partnerships, and funding opportunities. The OSL is a campus-wide office jointly supported by the Office of Instruction and Public Service & Outreach.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Position Summary
The Office of Service-Learning ( OSL ) is looking for an energetic, conscientious, and self-directed professional to coordinate and expand an after-school literacy and sports coaching program. The successful candidate will have a unique professional opportunity to provide essential leadership for expanding a community after-school program that can serve as a model throughout the state to enrich literacy instruction and provide increased access to youth sports programs.
The mission of the University of Georgia Office of Service-Learning is to support academic service-learning and community engagement initiatives that enhance student learning, support engaged scholarship, and address community needs. The OSL is a jointly supported unit of Public Service and Outreach and the Office of Instruction.
The OSL serves as a hub for campus and community collaborations and works with over 100 community partners each year. The program coordinator will engage with and provide support for school-based partnerships. This full-time position will report to the assistant director for community partnerships in the Office of Service-Learning.
Primary responsibilities include the following key activities:
• Coordinating all aspects of after-school program.
• Managing student workers.
• Facilitating UGA service-learning projects and recruiting UGA student volunteers.
• Developing and delivering training and preparation for UGA students involved in the after-school program.
• Working with internal and external partners to evaluate program success.
The position will renew annually contingent on availability of funding.
