We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Booking Manager . This position will be responsible for driving the event booking strategy across all sports and entertainment events, while playing a key role in helping the Arena events teams to meet their goals and objectives. Together with Arena, Suns & Mercury leadership, the successful Booking Manager will leverage new and existing entertainment and sports industry relationships to further solidify Phoenix as a best-in-class destination for sports and entertainment. With a strong focus on relationship building, clear communication, creative event marketing & engagement initiatives and the ability to rally a team around a common goal, the Booking Manager is a key player in driving organizational success. What You Will Do: Develop and execute programming strategy for the arena and team practice facilities via VenueOps, including all ticketed events, non-ticketed events and other function scheduling Oversee the event contracting process and event settlement process, together with Event Finance Specialist as a direct report Liaise with NBA and WNBA team representatives on developing their arena availability and annual game schedule, as well as team practice schedules and various team activities at practice facilities Drive new event content opportunities with a particular focus on sporting events, special events, citywide events and other non-concert opportunities Work collaboratively internally and externally to develop owned & operated events, taking a concept from ideation to execution Work alongside the Booking team on concert opportunities to ensure venue assets are properly allocated and represented in all venue deals Alongside the Event Finance Specialist, develop and maintain regular reporting tools including event forecasts, P&Ls, post event summaries Alongside Marketing, develop a strategy to keep Footprint Center at the forefront of the sports & entertainment industry via creative storytelling, assets and collateral Utilizing existing relationships and building new, proactively advocate for Phoenix with agents, promoters and event producers to host touring dates, and/or one-off events Liaise with the Marketing Partnerships team on sponsorship opportunities and with the Ticket Sales team on Group Sales efforts Work closely with the Booking team and various internal departments and external vendors on developing show budgets, presettlements and final P&L statements Continually evaluate effectiveness of arena scheduling and look for areas of improvement What We Need From Booking Manager: Relationship-focused, creative and positive leader who is capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Two to four years in successful event booking, programming or other related experience Experience with event settlements is required Experience utilizing VenueOps scheduling software strongly preferred Experience/ Education Requirements : Bachelor’s Degree 2-4 years’ experience in event booking, programming or other related experience What You Can Expect: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by the Booking Manager to optimally perform the essential functions of this role.
