List in order of importance) Monitors non-legal live and recorded video visits, telephone calls, and all other electronic communication, which would have a criminal predicate, jail security concern, inmate health/welfare concern or threat to the community and public safety members. Documents any suspected criminal activity or administrative violations and communicates to supervisors and jail commanders in a timely manner. Provides criminal intelligence information and investigative assistance to staff and law enforcement agencies in verbal and written formats. Assists law enforcement personnel with the optimal approach to obtaining desired information through the inmate communication systems. Preserves and maintains the chain of evidence of all items discovered or produced by the Custody Bureau Intelligence Monitoring team. Prepares written intelligence reports, service requests, incident requests, and records production requests; records current log entries into dissemination logs. Responds to general and complex questions concerning the responsibilities of the Custody Bureau Intelligence Monitoring team. Organizes case information into logical and concise order for retrieval by law enforcement personnel. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with MCSO employees and personnel of other law enforcement agencies in order to share information, request additional data, and enhance the development of investigative and intelligence information; attends group meetings, communicates with officers and analysts, and participates in professional organizations to support Bureau objectives. Serves as liaison between the Custody Bureau Intelligence Monitoring team and local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies; county, state and federal prosecutors; defense attorneys; and other MCSO divisions to ensure a continual flow of information related to intelligence gathering from inmate visitation records. Preserves and maintains the chain of evidence of inmate visitation records; produces records of all inmate non-legal communication mediums (e.g., inmate phones, video visitation, pictures and messages sent via inmate tablets) in digital format upon receipt of formal requests for production; confirms receipt of records produced by requesting agencies. Provides customer service in person, via email and telephone with the general public, other law enforcement entities, attorneys, County offices, and employees. Reviews and approve subpoenas, court orders, and Sheriff’s Office Requests for processing related to the inmate visitation records, including inmate phone records, and pictures and messages sent via inmate tablets. Monitors the legal database for accuracy; updates the DPS governed GangNet database for all new references specific to gangs, gang members, and Security Threat Groups (STGs). Assists in training new employees assigned to the Intelligence Monitoring team. Supports intelligence staff, Supervisor, Executive Lieutenant, and Commander, as needed.
