AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation’s American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperative’s award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled buttermakers and cheesemakers. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time: Manage accounts payable including policies, optimal payment methods and maximizing DPO. Review daily cash receipts and disbursements to determine daily cash requirements and borrowing needs. Report daily cash position to internal users. Coordinate all incoming and outgoing wire transfers. Responsible for fixed assets accounting Identifying and properly record fixed asset purchases, disposals, and trades. Record transactions to fixed asset management software. Capture all costs involved with capital projects. Assign appropriate book and tax lives. File state Escheat Reports as needed. Prepare Highway Use Tax reporting and updating truck report, and licensing AMPI vehicles. Prepare Wisconsin property tax returns. Responsible for real estate and personal property tax payments on all AMPI properties. File WI property tax returns. Reconcile various general ledger accounts. Prepare monthly bank compliance statement. Perform accounting and reporting functions of AMPI PAC. Disperse funds from PAC as directed and deposit cash contributions. Record all PAC contributions from AMPI Patrons made by monthly deductions or cash payments. Prepare reports and graphs for Communications Director for Board meetings. Prepare FEC report online and upload it to the FEC office monthly. Reconciling PAC account monthly and assist with annual audit. Remit quarterly income tax payments. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field or a combination of education and relevant work experience. 5 years relevant work experience preferred/required. 3 years of supervisory experience required.
