Avery's House is a mental health & substance abuse treatment provider for adolescents, seeking experienced, dependable, and responsible Clinical Assistant (BHT). Experience working with adolescents is preferred, and any additional experience with mental health and substance abuse. This position provides daily support to those in Avery's House outpatient program. Our Values Compassion, competence, resilience, optimism, inclusion, acceptance, and FUN! ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Complete intakes with new clients as needed. Transport clients safely as needed. Facilitate collection of client urine drug screens, document results in EMR, and send to lab as needed. Participate in documentation in electronic health record. Maintain client confidentiality HIPAA compliance. Manage crisis situations using verbal de-escalation interventions. Communication with team members and parents the status of clients in verbal and written form. Help facilitate group sessions. Coordinate appointments with providers. Coordinate client outings. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED preferred. REQUIRED: Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License in good standing. REQUIRED: Must be minimum 21 years of age. REQUIRED: Must pass drug screening. REQUIRED: Must be able to climb up and down stairs, hills, bend and lift 25+lbs DPS fingerprint clearance card (preferred- will be required to obtain) CPR/First Aid certification (preferred- will be required to obtain) Current TB test (will be required to obtain) KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED: 1. Knowledge of software programs for personal computer use, especially word processing, email, and electronic medical record systems. 2. Knowledge and experience in case management with mental health and substance abuse clients. 3. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion. 4. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, gaining cooperation and resolving conflicts. 5. Ability to plan and organize case workload, manage deadlines of him/herself. 6. Ability to maintain and demonstrate ethical professional standards and demeanor, including the confidentiality of employee and client data, client boundaries, and other sensitive information. 7. Demonstrated competence with, and continued commitment to respect for cultural differences and diversity, protecting client rights. 8. Recognition of the limits of one’s own professional expertise and the willingness to seek supervision and/or support, as needed. 9. Makes organizational decisions with the clients’ and agency well-being and best interests in mind. 10. Provide treatment that promotes client dignity, independence, individuality, strength, privacy and choice, recognizing the unique needs of the client population served by the agency. 11. Provide the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and that the staff member is qualified to provide. 12. Recognize obvious symptoms of a mental disorder, personality disorder, or substance abuse. 13. Identify types of medications commonly prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders and substance abuse, and the common side effects and adverse reactions to medications. 14. Recognize, prevent and respond to a situation in which the client may be a danger to himself or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, is experiencing a crisis situation or medical emergency. 15. Recognize and respond to fire, disaster, hazard, and medical emergency: and 16. Has completed all of the requirements above and is documented in application in training including the ability to pass background checks required by Avery's House.
