Position Summary As an IT Help Desk Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and efficient technical support for our employees at our Call Center as well as throughout the Company. You will be the first point of contact for our internal staff, addressing their IT-related issues and providing timely solutions. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining a productive work environment and excellent customer service. Essential Functions, Duties, & Responsibilities Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following: User Support: - Respond promptly to user inquiries via phone, email, or chat. - Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity. - Guide users through troubleshooting steps and provide clear instructions. Incident management: - Log all incidents and service requests in the help desk ticketing system. - Prioritize and escalate critical issues to the appropriate teams. - Monitor ticket queues and ensure timely resolution. Hardware & Software Maintenance: - Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals. - Assist with software installations, updates, and license management. - Perform routine maintenance tasks (e.g., system updates, backups). Network Troubleshooting: - Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (both wired and wireless). - Collaborate with network administrators to resolve network-related problems Documentation: - Create and update user manuals, FAQs, and knowledge base articles. - Document common issues and their resolutions for future reference. Security Awareness: - Educate users on security best practices (password management, phishing awareness, etc.). - Assist in enforcing security policies and protocols. Vendor Coordination: - Liaise with external vendors for hardware repairs, software licenses, and warranty claims. - Maintain accurate records of vendor interactions. Additional projects as assigned. Qualifications Required: · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). · Minimum 2 years of experience in IT support or help desk roles. · Familiarity with Windows and macOS operating systems. · Basic understanding of networking concepts. · Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). · Customer-oriented approach with a strong problem-solving mindset. · Ability to work independently and collaboratively. · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. · Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. · Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft MTA, or HDI Support Center Analyst are a plus. · Must be able to pass a seven-year criminal background check. · Must be able to pass company drug screen and/or substance abuse testing. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities · Can handle dynamic and changing environment. · Proficiency in PestPac is ideal. · Ability to establish strong internal and external relationships. · Positive, outgoing, results oriented, ambitious, collaborator License/ Certification · Preferred: Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft MTA, or HDI Support Center Analyst are a plus. Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements Physical activities include using fingers to type, etc., talking, and hearing in a sedentary work environment. Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. Equipment Routinely Used in This Position Required to use keyboard, mouse, and other electronic accessories in addition to monitors, computers, laptops, mobile devices, tablets, presentations remotes, televisions, printers, scanners, fax machines, postage meter, multi-line phone, headset, or Bluetooth related devices.
