Summary of Job: The Community Investment Officer will play a pivotal role in managing the administration, evaluation, and assessment of selected community investments in the Foundation's portfolio. The Officer will work closely with the executive director to ensure that resources are aligned with the mission and effectively utilized to maximize impact. The Foundation is seeking a motivated, entrepreneurial, values-driven individual for this highly demanding and rewarding work. Candidates must have excellent organizational, communications, and strategic thinking skills. The position requires a passion for social justice and racial equity, as well as positive interactions with the community, partner organizations, trustees, staff, and advisors, and a professional commitment to the importance of a cohesive team and collaborative working environment. Key Responsibilities: Participate in the development and implementation of the Foundation’s strategic grantmaking including identifying priorities and researching best practices. Connect with potential grant applicants with diverse experience to educate them about the grant application process and coach them in best practices for competing successfully in the application process. Provide staff support and direction to the executive director, trustees, and advisors regarding: execution of site visits and stakeholder meetings; preparation of meeting materials and other documentation; and compilation of community investment recommendations, summaries, and reports. Analyze giving patterns to maximize impact, identifying synergies, and evaluate results. Assist in the development of grant stories, website updates, and social media communications that promote the impact of the Foundation’s community investments. Develop partnerships to leverage support for Foundation-sponsored initiatives. Represent the Foundation at community events as necessary. Work as a member of the team to develop plans and policies for achieving greater community impact. Assist in the management of relationships with financial advisors and the administration of grants. Other duties as assigned. Technical skills: Knowledge in computer technology and system/software applications including Microsoft products; knowledge of database management systems and PowerPoint; excellent oral presentation skills. Qualifications: Commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion. Bachelor's degree. Experience may substitute for education. Minimum of 3 years of experience in philanthropy, grantmaking, community development, or related field. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. Compensation: The Jolley Foundation offers a contribution to health insurance coverage, paid time off, a hybrid work-from-home schedule (hired candidate must be located in, or willing to relocate to, the Greenville, SC area), opportunities for professional growth, and competitive salaries. The expected salary range for this position is $55,000-65,000. It is customary for candidates to join the Foundation at the lower half of the range to leave room for growth, learning, and development in the role and range. It is uncommon for salaries to fall above the mid-point at the time of hire. We negotiate actual salaries with final candidates based on their experience in similar roles and expertise related to the qualifications.
