Description
Rogers Group is currently seeking a Plant Operator / Maintenance Tech for our asphalt operation located in South Carolina. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence. Visually inspect equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication and either reports data to appropriate personnel or performs necessary maintenance on subject equipment by tightening fittings, oiling, and lubricating equipment, replacing bearings, gaskets, replacing or repairing conveyor components, gauges, or other components. Wages start at $22.00 an hour for entry level candidates. Higher pay for skilled operator with maintenance experience
The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but not limited to:
Operate and monitor an aggregates plant facility
Routine equipment/plant maintenance
Involved with plant improvement projects
Inspect and perform daily repairs and maintenance on plant
Inspect and maintain crushers, conveyors, screens, and other equipment
Perform daily pre and post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management
Operate equipment and tools with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency
Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have a dedication to safe work practices at all times
Previous maintenance experience
Experience welding and cutting is preferred
Mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed
Must have working knowledge of asphalt plant utilities and equipment including crushers, conveyors, scales, etc.
Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
Must be willing to work outside in a variety of conditions
Team player attitude
Must pass pre-employment drug screening
