On their behalf, we manage (or “service”) their loan portfolios, which means that we collect homeowners’ mortgage payments, pay their tax and insurance bills, and help homeowners in default to get current. Primary FunctionThe Supervisor - Insurance directs the day-to-day operations of the Hazard and/or Flood Insurance functions. This includes responsibility for one or more of the following: monitoring and payment of hazard insurance, flood insurance, and lender-placed insurance, as well as ensuring accurate data for all flood zone information is always present.Direct Reports:Insurance SpecialistsPrincipal Duties:Monitors insurance tracking and escrow disbursements for the portfolio including the daily file exchange with the insurance vendor to ensure accuracy and completion.Solves problems rapidly and cost-effectively with minimal disruption.Oversees one or more of the following: execution of payments for Insurance according to the renewal due dates, execution of order or transferring Flood Cert data, ensuring effective insurance coverage and see to the timely placement of Lender-Placed Insurance for an exposure or an insufficient policy.Manages exception reports ensuring the system is reflecting accurate data at all times.Execute and maintain reports for external clients. Perform ad hoc queries as necessary with management approval.Proactively and effectively monitor all vendors involved in administering the insurance process at Shellpoint.Develop and maintain policies and procedures for all business processes.Develop team goals and meet with associates monthly to administer scorecard evaluations and ensure adherence to department expectations.Updating and maintaining department P&Ps, training materials and desktop procedures.Monitor staffing, hiring, coaching, and personnel management, ensuring productive and accurate execution of all business processes.Responsible for the review of daily funding requests and reconciliation.Meet all required deadlines and think outside the box to solve problems.Performs related duties as assigned by management.*These essential functions are fundamental to the role, and must be performed on-site, as they cannot physically be performed remotely. Items not marked (*) as essential on-site may still require partial on-site work to perform the role satisfactorily.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree, preferred.6+ years’ mortgage servicing experience.1-2 years’ experience managing a team.Escrow Department, vendor management experience preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAnalytical/technical expertiseKnowledge of SQL helpful; familiar with working in a data warehouse environmentStrong knowledge of ExcelKnowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements preferred.Leadership/presentation skills.While this description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the position’s requirements, it in no way implies/states that these are the only job responsibilities.
