Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY :
Maintains and operates manure removal equipment on farms by performing the following duties.
Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
• Works on scheduled days as directed in relation to production scheduling and or time volunteered for. This being in relation to attendance policy and or guidelines.
• Conducts preventative maintenance on all manure removal equipment and or individual cages as needed and or directed.
• Assist drivers and or House People with maintenance issues as needed and or as directed.
• May install new manure removal system as needed. This includes at times some fabrication work and use of welders, acetylene torches, various power tools and or fabrication equipment.
• Moves and or relocates birds as needed to conduct repair work, returning them to their original cage location and or new one while observing bird density guidelines. (AWB)
• Catches and places loose birds in cages as needed while observing bird density guidelines.
• Repairs and replaces manure belts as needed using sonic welder, or other bonding application as directed.
• Regularly cleans all manure belts, pits and sheds as needed not allowing excessive build-up of manure.
• Repairs all flooring and guardrails in and around all manure handling equipment to insure safety standards are met.
• Regularly uses lock out tag-out devices when working on manure removal equipment to insure accidents and or equipment damages does not occur.
• Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
• Responsible for minimizing loss and maximizing egg quality within scope of position.
• Performs House Person duties as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• None Required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
