Medical Billing Specialist (On-site)
SUMMARY :  The Billing Support Specialist assists the Billing department and Revenue Cycle Manager in daily insurance billing operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Reviews billing or collection errors and assists with resolution.
• Requests missing billing information from physician offices as needed.
• Updates and corrects patient demographic and billing information as needed.
• Investigates and resolves patient billing calls and inquiries.
• Research claim denials and follows-up on requests for information.
• Assists Revenue Cycle Manager with audits and analyses of claim payments, billing statistics, coding and general procedures in order to improve billing operations.
• Maintains and enhances current knowledge of payer billing guidelines and compliance requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
TO SUCCEEED IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:
• Mid-level Microsoft Excel experience required
• Previous laboratory/medical billing required
• Telcor billing software experience preferred
• Medical coding experience preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving, critical thinking and decision making.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with physicians, staff and the public.
• Ability to establish priorities and coordinate activities of clinical staff.
• Ability to work independently and organize work to meet established deadlines.

HOURS/TRAVEL:
• Typical work hours: Monday – Friday 8 AM – 5 PM (May vary).
• Depending on client-specific work schedule, may include other daily hours, weekends and/or holidays.
• May need to work occasional overtime as required.
