Operations Safety Manager
Our client, a growing company here in Greenville, SC, dedicated to excellence and innovation in logistics and transportation, is looking to hire an Operations Safety Manager.
The Operations Safety Manager will maintain a robust and comprehensive environmental, health, and safety program. This role involves supporting the business in navigating compliance complexities and providing timely education, advice, and solutions.
This remote-first position requires the ability to travel up to 50% of the time and a few days a month in the Greenville, SC, headquarters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTION
• Evaluate, implement, and oversee safety policies and procedures across the organization.
• Coordinate with departments to address safety issues and conduct regular safety meetings.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation and develop emergency communication plans.
• Collaborate with external agencies during emergencies and ensure proper PPE use.
• Conduct hazard assessments, investigate incidents, and mitigate workplace risks.
• Prepare and present safety reports to management, conduct audits, and monitor compliance.
• Provide regular safety training to maintain employee skills and knowledge.
• Serve as a safety and operational role model, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills.
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment and optimal resource allocation.
• Uphold safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Promote safe work practices through proactive engagement and education.
• Gain a practical understanding of operational challenges and manage risks accordingly.
• Report on safety, quality, and operational outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Mandatory certification as an Associate Safety Professional (ASP).
• Preference for Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent.
• Certification in Root Cause Analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in safety-related roles.
• Understanding of industry legal regulations.
• Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics.
• Familiarity with MS Office and business software (Teams).
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
