Job Overview: The Plant Lead at Lyon Metal Roofing's Pelzer, SC location is responsible for overseeing and coordinating plant operations to ensure efficient production processes and timely delivery of high-quality products. Operating within the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) framework developed by Gino Wickman, the Plant Lead will play a key role in driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence within the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Production Management:** Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet production targets while adhering to quality standards and safety regulations.
2. **Team Leadership:** Provide leadership and guidance to plant staff, including production workers, to optimize performance, foster teamwork, and ensure a positive work environment.
3. **Process Optimization:** Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency enhancements, implementing solutions in alignment with EOS principles.
4. **Inventory Management:** Monitor inventory levels, coordinate material procurement, and oversee inventory control measures to minimize waste and maintain optimal stock levels.
5. **Quality Assurance:** Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that manufactured products meet or exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
6. **Safety Compliance:** Uphold safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all plant employees, conducting regular safety inspections and training sessions as needed.
7. **Reporting and Analysis:** Prepare and analyze production reports, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track plant performance and identify areas for improvement.
8. **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Collaborate with other departments, including sales, engineering, and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination of activities and alignment with organizational goals.
9. **Employee Development:** Support the professional development and training of plant employees, identifying skill gaps and providing coaching and mentorship to foster career growth.
10. **Continuous Improvement:** Participate in EOS meetings and initiatives, contributing ideas and insights to drive continuous improvement and strengthen the overall effectiveness of plant operations.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred. - 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role preferred. - Strong understanding of production processes, quality management principles, and safety protocols. - Experience working within the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) framework by Gino Wickman is highly desirable. - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members. - Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving. - Proven track record of driving process improvements and achieving operational excellence. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
