Mental Health/ Substance Abuse Counselor
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team in the Mental Health Care industry. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues. As a Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselor, you will provide therapy, support, and guidance to help clients overcome challenges and work towards their goals.
Responsibilities
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients with mental health and substance abuse disorders
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on clients' specific needs and goals
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine appropriate interventions and level of care required
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and monitor clients' progress in treatment
• Educate clients and their families about mental health and substance abuse disorders, treatment options, and coping strategies
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in mental health and substance abuse treatment
Requirements
• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
• Current state licensure or certification as a Mental Health/Substance Abuse Counselor
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in providing counseling services to individuals with mental health and substance abuse disorders.
• Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and interventions for mental health and substance abuse disorders
• Strong communication, empathy, and active listening skills
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills
