Pre-Press Technician
POSITION SUMMARY: Inspects the files of the jobs that come through the department, and then creates the proper files for the imposition needs of the job. Checks to make sure the jobs coming through Electronic Pre-Press continue successfully on course, on time, and in a manner that does not hinder the printing or finishing operations.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
• Check customer files for fonts, images, and proper dimensions
• Double-check and organize the ripped files and accompanying proofs
• Troubleshoot EPP problems
• Familiar with archival and retrieval of electronic files
• Proficient with the color proofing, calibrating, and operations
• Assist with troubleshooting imposition operations as needed
Computer Skills
• Very familiar with Windows OS and Mac OS
• Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator helpful
• InDesign
• Macintosh Applications
• Photoshop
Required Education: High School diploma or GED
Required Experience: 1-2 years related experience
