About the Job:
As a Child Life Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, providing, and maintaining child life services and resources in the outpatient surgery area. You will work with a team of healthcare professionals to prepare and support the patients and their families throughout their surgical experience. Your role will be to help patients and families with preparation support and to provide coping interventions to assist with their anxiety and stress by using various psychosocial developmentally appropriate care techniques.
Schedule:
The job is full-time, with 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with potential weekend hours as needed by divisional needs.
Pay:
The salary range for this position is between $23.02 to $33.09/hour $5.00/hour weekend differential on qualified hours.
Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital needs.
Job Qualifications :
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
· Completion of child life internship under the supervision of a certified CLS.
· Child Life Specialists Certification within one year of hire.
· Candidates with 2-5 years of Child Life experience are highly preferred.
Preferred Skills:
· Detail-oriented.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills. Comfortable speaking up and advocating for patients/families.
· Strong teamwork and collaborative skills.
· Flexibility.
· Willingness to learn/apply feedback.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required: ·Bachelor's degree in a related field
· 0 - 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline
·Completion of child life internship under the supervision of a certified CLS
·CCLS within one year of hire
