Geotechnical Department Manager
Must Haves :
• 5 years professional experience within the Civil/Geotechnical space.
• BS Civil or Environmental Engineering (also open to Geology)
• EIT or in process of trying to obtain their PE
• Prior experience managing direct reports
• Experience managing multi-project timelines
• Able to pass drug and background screening
• Valid Drivers License with acceptable violation history
Plusses :
• Masters Degree
• PE license
Day to Day :
Insight Global is looking for a Geotechnical Department Manager for a large Engineering Consulting firm in Greenville, SC. This individual will provide geotechnical engineering and consulting services for a broad array of projects and clients. This may include performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided. The Department Manager will review drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans/specifications, prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes. When required this individual is also expected to research and resolve design and construction problems. The ideal candidate should have excellent communications skills and be able to communicate complex engineering issues/concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and/or industrial sectors. The Geotechnical Department Manager will be responsible for managing a team of 3 direct reports and should be comfortable managing multi-project timelines and the coordination that goes along with these activities. To be successful in this position, a strong candidate will possess impressive organizational, leadership, decision making, and business development skills.
