Cost Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
• Develop and maintain inventory control procedures to optimize inventory levels and minimize carrying costs.
• Analyze inventory variances and reconcile discrepancies.
• Monitor and report on inventory aging and obsolescence.
• Calculate and analyze standard costs for raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.
• Prepare month-end and year-end inventory-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts related to inventory and cost of goods sold.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Provide ad-hoc cost analysis and reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of inventory control principles and cycle count procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (experience with SAP preferred).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
