Accountant
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accountant at a local CPA firm here in Greenville / upstate area. This role involves handling bookkeeping, tax, and payroll for small business clients, with a focus on tasks such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, month end close process, and reconciliations. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a regular client base and work closely with the team for final review and submission of financial statements.
Responsibilities
• Handle bookkeeping, tax and payroll for small business clients
• Be responsible for a client base - roughly 20 clients ongoing
• Perform Bookkeeping duties
• Conduct month-end close process
• Carry out reconciliations a
• Process payroll, which can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly (depending on the client )
• Assist with Payroll taxes
• Provide tax support during busy season for both individual and business returns
• Utilize multiple software systems - Quickbooks (desktop, online), MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) and one of the common tax systems
• Maintain strong communication and relationship building with clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
Additional Information
This position is full-time, 40 hours per week outside of busy season. Overtime is permitted and paid out per hour during busy seasons.
Business Casual Attire unless a client is visiting the office or you are going onsite to see a client.
