Director of Field Operations
Salary Scale
$90,000-$110,00 DOE
Job Purpose
Provide strong visible operational leadership and management and develop a high performing team to ensure that the entire field operations team is consistently operating to the highest possible standards in safety, quality, innovation, and operational excellence.
Key Behaviors
As the most senior leader of the field team, the Field Operations Director is expected to act as a role model demonstrating to a consistently high standard their personal drive and commitment to the organizational goals, vision, values and supporting behaviors.
Key Responsibilities
On a day-to-day basis the Director of Field Operations has the following areas of specific responsibility within each of their key roles listed below.
Acts as a role model
• Displays and proactively encourages in others the delivery of results safely, with high levels of quality.
• Demonstrates strong personal leadership and managerial capability.
• Demonstrates and encourages in others a genuine commitment to the vision, purpose, and behaviors of Logisticus Projects Group.
• Works collaboratively with the key directors, project managers and sourcing managers to ensure the right people are applied to the right jobs.
• Demonstrates a willingness to continually push for improvements, always willing to challenge the status quo.
Operational Development
• Proactively manages the field team to ensure that operational gaps in performance on any existing works scopes are identified with corrective actions to close them.
• Ensure all staff are aware of and adhere to ALL safety policies and procedures.
• Ensures and holds teams accountable for each project.
• Provide feedback on forecasted resource demand to ensure projects are staffed appropriately, with appropriate tooling, and executed efficiently and safely.
• Ensures that staff are assigned based on skills, experience, efficiency, cost, and work scope.
• Works proactively with Head of Human Resources to supplement the staffing of projects.
• Monitor and manage employee morale to identify areas for improvement.
• Visits sites on a regular basis to ensure standards and culture are being met in the field.
REQUIRED Traits:
• This position requires the ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Proven experience as Director of Operations or equivalent position.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Outstanding communication and people skills.
• Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines.
• In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. supply chain, finance, customer service etc.).
• Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
• Familiarity with MS Office and various business software (Teams)
• BS/BA in business administration or relevant field will be a plus.
Requirements and Skills (Current Certifications OR Required to be completed during the first 6 months of employment)
• OSHA Construction Certification – 30 Hours
• OSHA #511 OSHA Standards for the General Industry – 26 Hours
• OSHA # 7500 Introduction to Safety & Health Management – 5.5 Hours
• OSHA # 7505 Introduction to Incident (Accident Investigation) – 7.5 Hours
