Customs Compliance Coordinator
Our client, a growing company in Greenville, SC, is looking to hire a Customs Compliance Coordinator.
The primary focus of this position is to support import and export compliance needs, such as answering broker requests, coordinating timely shipment clearance, and auditing entries. The coordinator will work with the logistics teams, as well as the designated customs broker, to ensure compliance with governmental regulations.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in customs compliance coordination and be familiar with working with SAP.
This is a hybrid position in Grenville, SC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTION
• Ensure regulatory compliance in accordance with U.S. Customs laws, regulations, and requirements.
• Maintain professional communication with internal teams, suppliers, external partners, and occasionally U.S. Customs (CBP).
• Provide guidance on regulatory matters, including Anti-boycott/Restrictive Trade Practices, Export Control Classification, Export Licensing, Compliance Training, Export Documentation, Tariff Classification, Customs Valuation, Duty Drawback, Reconciliation, recordkeeping, Preference Programs/FTAs, and customs clearance.
• Prepare shipping documents such as commercial invoices, Bills of Lading (BOL), and packing lists.
• Conduct audits to assess export/import compliance for clients and supporting operating entities. Assist in implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Gather and analyze detailed information that may impact sourcing decisions financially.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, evaluate current processes, and recommend changes or improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred, or equivalent experience in customs compliance or compliance auditing.
• Strong proficiency in digital tools, particularly Microsoft products (e.g., Excel, Access), and data analysis skills are essential.
• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and SAP is highly desirable.
