Senior Collections Specialist
We are seeking a Collections Specialist to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. This role will primarily focus on maintaining relationships with both internal and external customers, influencing customer payments in line with company goals and objectives, and working cross-functionally to address issues with customer accounts.
Responsibilities
• Monitor a portfolio of accounts to assess receivables condition and prioritize work according to objectives
• Perform account analysis to identify trends, problems, and root causes of ongoing issues, and outline solution plans
• Create and execute a weekly work plan that includes customer calls, emails, and correspondence based on account status
• Work cross-functionally to gather information and expertise to address issues identified with customer accounts
• Negotiate within the assigned scope of authority, individually or as part of a team, to resolve problems.
• Perform account reconciliations, daily credit hold/releases, process monthly statements, and recommend bad debt write-offs
• Respond to customer inquiries on accounts regarding billing discrepancies or payment disputes
• Resolve issues related to short-pays, chargebacks, credit memos, and payment applications
• Support other collections staff with research requests, invoice reprints, data gathering, and related tasks.
• Use Accounting Software Systems, Accurint, Great Plains, IBM AS/400, Microsoft Excel, and SAP for various billing functions and collection processes.
