UC Health is hiring a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist for the first shift for the Speech and Hearing department at West Chester Hospital.  
The Speech-Language Pathologist will support West Chester Hospital’s rehabilitation services department, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities: 
The speech-language pathologists (SLPs) are dedicated to providing a range of services to adults, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, cognitive- linguistic, and swallowing disorders. Detailed job responsibilities are as follows:  
Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates an interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned within the time frame indicated by unit's standards of practice.   
Communicates formulated plan of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care, and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patient's assessment and needs.  
Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care of the patient.   
Identifies and responds appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms.   
Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting the needs of the unit.   
Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others. 
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:   
Master's degree in speech language pathology. 
Acute care experience preferred 
Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by ASHA or working toward certification 
Licensure by the State of Ohio
