Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Examine and analyze data as presented by the customer applicant for consideration of abatement. Request clarifying information, evaluate both testimony and evidence to make findings of fact and render decisions in conformance with procedural standards, statutes, and tax laws. Utilize problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills to conduct analysis of information including financial records and historical data. On occasion educate taxpayers on filing requirements and recommend solutions to identified nonconformance. Prepare thorough files based on analyzed decisions for hearings and testify on behalf of the Arizona Department of Revenue. Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology. Use automated accounting systems and applications to retrieve and review data files, analyze information, and analyze financial records in conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Skills Required: Google Suite and/or Microsoft Programs - particularly proficient in Sheets/Excel and Gmail. Research, analytical and critical thinking, problem solving.
