Job Description Liberty EyeCare is a family owned and operated optometry practice and optical shop in West Chester, Ohio. We are expanding and seeking an optometric technician with experience to join our team. The candidate will assist the doctor with patient care. Primary responsibilities will include pretesting duties, special testing duties, teaching patients to properly insert, remove and care for contact lenses, ordering and receiving contact lenses. Additional responsibilities may grow to include adjusting, repairing, dispensing glasses. General office duties will include answering phone, scheduling appointments, assisting with patient check-in and check-out. The candidate will file insurance claims so knowledge of VSP, Eyemed, Spectera and Davis Vision is a plus. In this specialized role, candidates with optometric experience are preferred. Excellent benefits (group health insurance, voluntary dental insurance, paid time off and eye care benefits, including discounts on eye glasses and contact lenses) are offered along with competitive compensation and bonus program. ‪ Duties and Responsibilities ‪Provide exceptional customer service Pretesting duties may include Optomap, Autorefraction, iCare tonometry Special testing duties may include OCT, fundus photography, Pachymetry, visual field testing Teach patients how to properly insert, remove and care for contact lenses Order and receive contact lenses General office duties may include answering phones, scheduling appointments, maintaining a clean office ‪Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions as well as policies regarding payment, returns, exchanges ‪Compute and process payment transactions/refunds using in-house Point of Sale system (My Vision Express) ‪Perform other administrative tasks as assigned ‪Process insurance claims (VSP, Eyemed, Spectera, Davis Vision) ‪Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products ‪Create and maintain patient files, following company and HIPAA policies regarding confidentiality. Adjust and repair glasses as needed * Education and Experience Requirements* ‪High School Diploma or GED ‪Experience working in the eye care industry is preferred ‪ Working Environment ‪Family oriented atmosphere Patient focused and customer service oriented atmosphere Team oriented atmosphere Work is performed primarily in an indoor medical office and retail setting ‪High level of interaction with general public ‪Work is independent and with patients ‪Environment is often fast-paced and deadline oriented Job Type: Full-time Schedule: 8 hour shift Work Location: In person
