Title : Employment Specialist, hourly, part time, non-exempt Reports to : Program Manager – Employment Services Overview of Responsibilities and Duties The primary goal of the Employment Specialist is to provide a person-centered job coach experience to individuals with ASD/ID to move them towards paid employment. *Must be available to work evenings and weekends Primary Responsibilities: · Provide person-centered employment services to obtain competitive employment for job seekers. · Provide pre-employment services such as resume writing, soft skill training, completing applications and job readiness training. · Collaborate with local businesses to create partnerships that lead to employment opportunities for job seekers. · Provide on-site job coaching to employees. · Provide training and support to employers. · Compliance with data collection and reporting in Therap to meet requirements and timelines as directed by the IPSE and the State of SC. · Create and maintain professional relationships with families, program participants, staff, interns, volunteers, and community partners. · Maintain regular communication with program participants and families. · Demonstrate all SOS Core values. · Attend all EOS meetings as required. · Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive situations and documentation. · Attend employment trainings as needed and provide updates to team. · Other duties as assigned. SOS Expectations : The Employment Specialist is expected to follow all rules and guidelines as presented in the SOS Care Policy Manual and Handbook. The Employment Specialist must obtain and maintain all annual training and compliance requirements. The Employment Specialist’s Supervisor will annually monitor performance and deliver a performance review at least annually. It is the responsibility of the Employment Specialist to maintain open communication with the Employment Supervisor on a regular basis. Qualifications : The Employment Specialist will have a University Degree in a related field, experience in working with people who have disabilities or equivalent experience. Must have experience in non-profit management and working knowledge of inter-agency practices. A strong background in both written and oral communication is necessary as well as proficiency in word processing. Must possess the ability to work independently and to take the lead in difficult situations. A general understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is important to the understanding of the mission of the organization. Must possess the ability to “sell” our program and our employees to prospective employers and have excellent business connections with a sound reputation within the community. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week Benefits: Mileage reimbursement Work Location: On the road
