Description: This position is not remote. The Mortgage Loan Processor position reports directly to the VP/Manager – Residential Real Estate and is responsible for performing real estate related administrative duties within the Residential Real Estate Department. This position is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of loan files and documentation for Freddie Mac, HELOC, construction, in-house, and conventional mortgage loans. The Mortgage Loan Processor provides administrative support to the Mortgage Loan Officers and is also expected to provide technical, practical problem solving and specialized support services to all bank Officers and employees. The position will assist in attaining established Bank and branch goals through active participation in the Residential Real Estate Department and branch activities and is expected to provide leadership, training and support to less experienced officers and staff members. Requirements: Essential Functions Process all Freddie Mac, HELOC, construction, in-house, and conventional mortgage loan applications; generate loan documentation, order credit reports, order evidence of insurance, work with companies/vendors, and book and close loans on the Bank’s computer software system while adhering to all Bank and Department policies and procedures. Generate loan documentation for all loans relating to or secured by residential real estate including but not limited to; underwriting, preparation of closing statements, documents, general ledger tickets and checks, order credit reports, assemble title insurance/letter reports, and request flood determinations. Verify all documentation for accuracy and completeness ensuring adherence to all applicable banking laws, regulations, and internal policies. Provide support and assistance to loan officers in the servicing and maintenance of all residential real estate related loans. Process mortgage payoffs, satisfactions & partial releases. Assist in reconciling the accounts payable from the General Ledger and invoices from various vendors including title companies. Assist in the tracking of recorded mortgages and title policies and assist management with loan or documentation review programs. Provide direct customer support to new and existing real estate customers by responding to inquiries received from borrowers. Generate and maintain the tracking system and exception lists for all Freddie Mac and in-house residential real estate files which includes following up and resolving tracking system issues. Provide support to mortgage operations by completing mortgage processing functions, ordering documentation requests, appraisals, and title work, and preparing early disclosure documents. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associates Degree from an accredited college or university; or 2 years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of mortgage loan documentation terminology and methodology. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years direct industry experience, knowledge and training in all loan servicing activities and terminology. Basic experience, knowledge and training in financial statement and tax return analysis typically resulting from a combination of education in accounting, financial and/or credit analysis or related areas. Intermediate knowledge of title policies and related loan regulations such as RESPA, HMDA and other bank lending policies. Environment and Cognitive/Physical Demands The environment for this position is an open office that is mostly clean and comfortable. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The individual is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time in an office setting. Good organizational and time management skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills including use of phone, computer, speaking, listening, and presenting. Ability to problem solve, negotiate and persuade customers.
