The pay range is $125,600.00 - $226,100.00

About the Role:
As a Director of Brand Activation , you will lead a team in service to the Enterprise’s Owned Brand portfolio, LTO’s and Design Partnerships. The role is primarily responsible for leading a cross-pyramid team that is charged with adapting brand, business and packaging strategies into creative briefs to create industry-leading consumer experiences for in-store and online environments. To accomplish this, you will collaborate with a broad set of cross-functional teams including: Brand Management, Creative (Design + Copy), Production Design, Creative Production, Structural Packaging Product Design, Merchandising, Project Management, Strategy & Operations, Marketing, and Insights, amongst others.
You will evolve the Brand Activation capability at Target by:
• Driving operational efficiencies from packaging brief creation to packaging creative execution, right-sizing team scope and expanding the global resource model to reinvest capacity in strategic priorities
• Integrating Brand Activation into pyramid and brand planning and prioritization routines to inspire synergies and strategic cross-category opportunities and inform resource and budget needs
• Bringing innovative thinking to expand the capability to include in-store and online environments, gaining leadership alignment on additional store or digital identity assets and .com channel deliverables, inclusive of resourcing model and budget ownership
• Bringing thought leadership to Brand Management teams, identifying activation growth opportunities, collaborating on consumer journey mapping and defining an activation measurement plan and channel partner engagement model
Our portfolio of 50+ brands were designed to address a very large breadth of guest needs, span all five of our major categories of business and encompass tens of thousands of SKUs. The complexity in this role is driven by the realities of retail-Owned Brands – their size, their scale, the need to navigate a complex, matrixed organization with many stakeholders, all while building a new capability for Target.
Essential Responsibilities and Key Results:
• Leverage guest, business and competitive insights to identify opportunities to improve consumers’ experience of Target’s Owned Brand portfolio via in store packaging & communications and .com
• Collaborate with Brand, Creative, Store and Digital partners to establish connectivity between Brand Strategies, category insights and guest messaging, both in-store and online.
• Develop activation guidelines for cross-category/brand themes across Target’s Owned Brands portfolio to ensure a consistent, scalable experience in store and online
• Create end-to-end connectivity of strategy and operations across Owned Brand, LTO and Design Partnership packaging briefs and optimize the brand experience via packaging.
• Clarify and optimize team member roles and responsibilities to drive impact and broaden scope to amplify brand strategies via packaging, in-store and online environments.
• Lead and mentor a team of Brand Activation Managers through change and rally cross functional partners and leaders toward a future state goal
This role will report directly to Target’s Senior Director of Portfolio Management.

About You:
• Four-year degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred
• 12+ years of experience – will consider a variety of backgrounds with applicable experience (Account Management, Marketing, Operations, Channel Strategy, Brand Management, Packaging Management, etc.)
• Thrives in new, ambiguous and evolving environments, demonstrating adaptability and determination
• Experienced in developing a vision and inspiring teams

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
