Lead Material Resource Planner - Coatings
Job Description Summary
The Material Resource Planner (MRP) will manage the flow of direct materials for the Hot Gas Path (HGP) Coatings cell. As an MRP, ensure that all required materials to execute the schedule are available and that all system (SAP, BMS, etc) transactions are properly and timely executed. In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
• Ensure timely creation and release of Production Orders to support the master schedule
• Provide functional material responsibility for coatings processes as required, this includes material movements within the warehouse, shop and returns from subcontracting suppliers
• Identify material shortages in the Coatings cell, monitor the implementation of corrective actions plans, control inventory levels of components, and coordinate the disposition of obsolete, non-conforming, and excess materials
• Monitor performance to the scheduled plan and take proactive action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting the scheduled plan
• Be responsible for inventory management for assigned parts and processes required to ensure material input to support customer requirements while financial inventory objectives are accomplished
• Focus on material availability through the Coatings cell and participate in continuous improvement projects with part flow
• Support key material initiatives, including laminar flow, standard work in process (SWIP) and inventory reduction to support Pull and Lean initiatives
• Drive rework recovery for coated parts to reduce stranded inventory and help to support set completion for buckets and stators
• Maintain manufacturing Bill of Material (BOM) and Master Data accuracy for coatings parts
• Be responsible for system cleanliness through date management and exception message analysis and action
• Monitors schedule adherence, on time release, actual vs. system lead times and on time completion of work orders
• Interface with the Operations, Quality, Engineering, Materials and other GE organizations as required to work cross-functionally to achieve complex business goals
• Complete all required training in the defined timelines
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technical, Business, Supply Chain, or related fields with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Materials, Inventory Management or Production Planning and Control.
• OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Materials, Inventory Management or Production Planning and Control.
Desired Characteristics
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical, Business, Supply Chain or related fields
• Experience working with SAP and BMS a plus
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage changing/conflicting priorities and resolve appropriately
• Analytical and system proficiency skills
• Ability to effectively operate in any organizational structure
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management
The base pay range for this position is 80,000.00 - 106,600.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% bonus.
