Our organization seeks a motivated and skilled Lead Solutions Architect. The Lead Solutions Architect plays a strategic role in upholding our reputation for technological excellence and innovation. You will lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of state-of-the-art modern software development and cloud architectures that address our customer’s business requirements and anticipate and plan for future growth and evolution.
As the driving force behind our software modernization and cloud strategies, you will liaise between business units and technical teams, ensuring that the solutions align with our customer’s business goals while integrating seamlessly with existing systems and technologies. You will be hands-on in every project lifecycle stage, from initial brainstorming sessions and stakeholder consultations to the final stages of deployment and post-deployment reviews.
This is a fully remote, full-time position.
Responsibilities
• Define and advance the overarching vision of our cloud architecture. Your forward-thinking approach will ensure that we remain at the forefront of industry advancements and can quickly adapt to changing business needs.
• Craft sophisticated cloud strategies and architectures that cater to the business's needs while ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.
• Dive deep into specific challenges and requirements to design cloud solutions that are robust, scalable, and agile. Your architectural blueprints will serve as the foundation for realizing our technological dreams.
• Act as a beacon of expertise and guidance for our technical teams. Collaborate with engineers, developers, and other IT professionals, ensuring that all pieces of the architectural puzzle fit together perfectly.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Evaluate the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in cloud architecture, integrating them into our practices when beneficial.
• Foresee potential challenges and risks in proposed solutions and develop strategies to address and mitigate them, ensuring the highest system performance, security, and reliability levels.
• Assess emerging cloud technologies and services, recommending the most apt choices for our organization.
• Act as the bridge between our organization's technical and non-technical arms. Effectively convey complex architectural concepts and strategies to a diverse audience, ensuring buy-in and alignment at all organizational levels.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation, ensuring clear communication of designs and strategies.

Requirements
• Must be a U.S Citizen.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of cloud infrastructure engineering experience, focusing on AWS or Azure Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on experience and certifications with major cloud platforms such as AWS and /or Azure.
• Demonstrated expertise in cloud-native services, serverless computing, microservices architectures, and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices, including familiarity with compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, CDNs, VPNs, and load balancing.
• Experience integrating DevOps practices and setting up continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Ability to dissect complex technical challenges and devise effective, innovative solutions.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with a knack for explaining intricate concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• An understanding of business operations and the ability to align architectural decisions with business objectives and profitability.
• Commitment to staying updated with emerging technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices related to cloud computing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specified requirements.
• Proven track record of collaborating with diverse internal and external teams to drive project success.
Desirable Skills
• Cloud certification(s) from AWS or Azure Cloud Platform (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
• Experience with IaC; Terraform, AWS CDK, Cloudformation.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Circle CI).
• Proficiency in designing and implementing microservice architectures, API gateways, and RESTful API integrations.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., NewRelic, DataDog, Grafana).
• Deep understanding of cloud network configurations, including VPC, CDN, VPN, Direct Connect, and load balancing.
• Knowledge of cloud security tools, best practices, and compliance standards (IAM, encryption, security groups, etc.).
• Solid knowledge of a scripting language such as Python, Bash, JavaScript, or PowerShell is essential for automating tasks.
• Expertise in tools and platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and ECS for containerization and orchestration. Good foundation in Linux/Unix fundamentals, as these operating systems commonly run in cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, their use cases, and how to interact with them.
• Experience with cloud data integration tools and services for data migration, ETL processes, and real-time data processing.
• Skills in cloud resource optimization and cost management.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.

As the US Government is our clientele, you may be required to obtain a public trust or security clearance.
