Overhead Crane Mechanic
1 st shift Overhead Crane Mechanic OpSource has partnered with an industrial company located in Taylors, SC. Pay for the position: $25.00 - $30.00/hour depending on experience.
Shifts for the position: 1 st shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Job requirements for the position may include:
• Conduct regular inspections of overhead crane systems to identify any mechanical, electrical, or structural issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, adjustment, and component replacement to prolong the lifespan of overhead crane equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems with overhead crane components, including motors, brakes, gears, and control systems.
• Repair or replace faulty components and conduct thorough testing to ensure proper functionality.
• Perform alignment and calibration of crane systems to ensure accurate operation and load handling.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts usage, labor hours, and equipment history.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on overhead crane systems, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other maintenance personnel as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement improvements and upgrades to overhead crane systems. Qualifications for the position:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or electrical fields preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a crane mechanic, preferably with overhead crane systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment commonly used in maintenance and repair activities.
• Solid understanding of electrical systems, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in crane operations.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and drawings related to overhead crane equipment.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and specialized tools for testing and calibration purposes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of overhead crane systems.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency repair calls as needed.
