KEIPI RESTAURANT GREENVILLE, SC
GENERAL MANAGER
Keipi Restaurant is looking for an extraordinary person to run our beloved restaurant and build the Keipi brand. This job will be focused on extending Keipi into the community and growing our customer base, while continuing to manage restaurant operations to ensure a smooth and beautiful dining experience for our customers and work environment for our employees, as well as building a solid profit base. The hospitality of Keipi is truly unique. We serve more than food and wine, but also give each table a toast, meant to ignite beautiful moments and spur deep conversations. In addition, we host weekly (often more frequent) community dinners, called Keipis, based on an ancient toasting tradition from the Republic of Georgia. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain Keipi’s unique identity as a restaurant that creates a space for strangers to become friends and old friends to deepen relationships.
• Recruit, hire and train all restaurant staff.
• Schedule employees to ensure shifts have proper coverage, including Tamadas, Melekipes and Floor Tamadas.
• Streamline restaurant processes and keep equipment functioning properly to create a beautiful dining experience for guests and work environment for employees.
• Monitor restaurant finances, including sales and expenses, and make adjustments as necessary.
• Enforce food handling regulations and other guidelines for guest and employee safety.
• Promote the restaurant to increase customers through social media, networking events, etc.
• Ensure that a Tamada (volunteer toastmaster) is present to toast with guests during rush times.
• Handle customer complaints with compassion, tact and professionalism.
• Maintain and build relationships with food and beverage vendors, and other neighboring businesses.
• Maintain a relationship with property management and stay up to date on any and all developments.
• Attend First Things Foundation leadership meetings.
• Willingness to make a toast with dinner guests.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
3 – 5 years in management position and/or general restaurant work
HOURS
Work weeks are typically 45 - 55 hours, typically falling between Tuesday and Sunday. Flexibility is a necessity as the needs of the restaurant can vary greatly from week to week.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Leadership, delegation, organization and planning
• Team building
• Problem solving
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Marketing and Networking
• HR skills (preferred)
• Financial/analytical skills including planning, budgeting, forecasting and P&L management, especially with regards to restaurants (preferred)
