Shop Services Process Engineer
About the Role: We are looking for a Process Engineer to join the Shop Services Equipment Parts Management Project core team in our Medical Products Division. In this role, you will be a Process Engineer on the project core team, you will champion the revision of our critical parts processes throughout MPD, including MD49 assessments, evaluation of critical tooling and critical molding, and physical parts storage locations.
This role will be located at our facility in Phoenix, Arizona or Flagstaff, Arizona.
Responsibilities:
• Drive critical parts improvement activities to ensure equipment meets compliance with an accurate parts list for user needs, including documentation through the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system
• Develop accurate parts lists for manufacturing equipment, including authoring, implementing, and revising accompanying procedures when necessary
• Work with Maintenance, Design and Automation, and Product line SME associates to facilitate proper documentation of accurate parts lists, this includes providing accurate parts lists for equipment, appropriate linking of parts to equipment, evaluation of physical parts storage areas, critical tooling/molding and coordination of parts assessments with Engineering and Quality Assurance
• Be responsible for data-integrity of parts list activities in EAM: drive metrics collection, analysis and decisions for manufacturing equipment (assessment of maintenance activities, instructions and intervals, equipment risk analysis, critical parts utilization, machine condition assessments, and useful service-life evaluations)
• Applying formal problem-solving techniques to determine root cause, and developing and implementing plans for improvement and mitigation
• Identifying and addressing opportunities to continuously improve Shop Engineering processes; and assess for quality, environmental, and cost impact
• Daily interactions with Product Support Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Monitoring & Control, and Quality Assurance to complete tasks
• Work closely with other Shop Services functions to maintain equipment that meets production standards
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years hands-on Engineering work experience
• Experience applying structured problem solving approach (such as 8D, 8-Step, DMAIC or PDCA) that drives root cause analysis using 5-Why, Why Trees, and Fishbone analysis
• Demonstrated ability to document, communicate, and present technical work
• Ability to apply engineering fundamentals and statistical analysis to optimization and troubleshooting activities
• Ability to prioritize, plan, and drive multiple projects concurrently to completion against agreed upon timelines and deliverables
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team, including influencing across functions, and building an inclusive environment
• Ability to identify critical issues and failure modes, creating a framework of action to address these issues and assess root cause including effective risk-based decision making
• Ability to travel up to 20%
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Infor EAM) and/or Programming, Product Life Cycle experience
• Experience coaching or mentoring
• Experience with quality systems, documentation, and methodologies (for example, GMP, ISO 9001, APQP, House of Quality, etc)
