SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop or evaluate new and derivative product proposals.
Document product and support functional and software requirements.
Develop product documentation and user interfaces for company products and supporting materials and tools.
Design, code and debug software for company products.
Develops software tools for product verification, product training and demonstration.
Design and maintain company website and IOS / Android applications
Assist with IT and PC user support.
Other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES :
Strong written communications, time management and organizational skills.
In depth knowledge of PC and Microsoft Windows environment.
Proficiency in multiple software languages and development environments.
Proficiency with common database tools and report tools.
Working knowledge of office applications and graphical design tools.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
High School diploma or equivalency required with a relevant two or four-year degree and applicable job experience.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Ability to work with minimal supervision and to interact with all departments in a professional manner.
Able to work within a cross functional product development team.
Professional appearance: grooming and dress consistent with tasks to be performed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primary work environment will be in a professional office setting.
Duties occasionally may require working in the manufacturing, service and warehouse areas. Personal protection equipment may be required in these areas.
Some work locations will be typical of product operating environments including exposure to soils, moisture, loud equipment and the presence of agricultural chemicals and petroleum products. Personal protection equipment will be required in these locations.
Occasional overnight travel to customer locations, for training, product testing or trade exhibitions is required.
Job may require long periods of sitting or standing.
Work outside and in addition to normal weekly hours may be required as job duties demand.
