Allyn International is in search of an Global Trade Compliance Intern to grow within our Trade Department in either our Greenville, SC location. Our core products include transportation management, logistics sourcing, freight forwarding, supply chain consulting, tax management, and trade compliance operational support and consulting. 
What does a Global Trade Compliance Intern do?
The Global Trade Compliance Intern will support the import and export compliance needs of clients, such as answering broker requests, classifying items according to Harmonized Tariff, researching import and export requirements such as Partner Government Agency restrictions, coordinating timely shipment clearance, and auditing entries. The GTC Intern will work together with a team and under the guidance of a Licensed Customs Broker to meet clients’ needs while also ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.
Position Details: 
Location: Greenville, SC
Position/Classification: Full-Time or Part-Time
Start date: Immediately (Two+ weeks)
Compensation: $17.00 per hour 
Hours of Work: Regular business hours, Monday-Friday 
Physical Demands: Sitting, typing, carrying, and climbing stairs

Required Experience and Education:
Currently enrolled or pursuing a Bachelor’s or equivalent college degree 
Excel experience preferred 
Ideal Candidate Skills:
Bilingual skills preferred

Effective time management and prioritization skills
​Responsibilities:
Support client’s customs brokers to ensure compliant, efficient, and cost-effective entry of goods. Establish and monitor service providers’ performance against clearly defined Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s)
Ensure proper product tariff classification and valuation information
Assist generating shipping documents such as commercial invoice and packing list
Develop and maintain customized compliance programs and processes specific to client needs
Conduct audits to assess the export/import compliance of client and supporting operating entities Assist in determining and implementing corrective actions where necessary
Gather and provide detailed analysis and information which may financially impact sourcing decisions
Manage supplier contracts and interface with client suppliers
Identify cost savings opportunities from client data sources
Work with numerous ad hoc teams across the organization on a project-by-project basis
Continuously evaluate current processes and recommend relevant changes or improvements to increase efficiency/productivity
