Job Summary This position provides a safe and enjoyable recreational experience for park users.
*This is a part-time seasonal position.  Schedule will vary.  This position is not intended to work more than 29 hours per week.
Job Functions 1.       Primarily monitors the use of playing fields and schedules at the Culpeper County Parks and Recreation Facilities.
2.     Oversees rentals at Lenn Park Pavilion during opening and closing times, as requested.
3.       Enforces park user policy and regulations.
4.       Communicates facility closures and resolves issues when appropriate to include monitoring and cleaning restrooms, cleaning up trash and debris, etc.
5.       Responsible for opening and closing of Culpeper County Parks and Recreation facilities.
6.       Performs park maintenance tasks.
7.       Maintains a high level of customer service.
8.     Complete incident and accident reports.
9.     Acts as point of contact in an emergency situation.  Will be well versed in Culpeper County park emergency evaluation plan.

·         Ability to reference data and information such instruction manual, park user policy and/or regulations, etc.
·         Ability to handle a variety of patron issues
·         Ability to provide the highest level of customer service
·         Ability provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation
·         Ability provides quality customer service and maintains a working relationship with park users and co-workers.
·         Ability to operate various lawn maintenance tools
·         Ability to solve practical problems
·         Ability to reference data and information such instruction manual, park user policy and/or regulations, etc.
·         Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
High school graduation or equivalent; with one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be at least 18 years old.
Special Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver's license.
Must be able to work flexible hours to include nights and weekends.
Must obtain satisfactory results of a criminal history background check.
CPR/First Aid certified (preferred) or willing to be trained
Working Conditions & Disclaimer Working Conditions
Must be able to exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and lift 30 and up to 55 gallon garbage liners with weight in the range of 10 to 50 pounds. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Task also involves the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching which may involve some lifting carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (15-25pounds). Physical demand requirements are for Medium to Light Work.  At times may involve work in adverse weather conditions.
