Full-Time Job Details Description Position Overview This position will provide comprehensive support to Proterra’s MES/OT Development Lead and other site leadership team members. The MES Engineering will be responsible for deploying and supporting projects on Proterra’s MES Team, specifically around the Ignition and Visual Factory platforms. This could include working with a multitude of technologies such as PLCs, OPC Servers, HMI and SCADA development, custom software development, integrating databases, working with data historians and OEE’s, etc. You will be responsible for engaging with the other departments, guiding, and leading them through solutions, and ultimately delivering successful projects and operations. Responsibilities: Design, develop, implement, and optimize MES solutions using Inductive Ignition for our manufacturing processes. Lead MES data process automation, design, process improvement, and project management initiatives. Proven experience with SCADA, MES, and IIOT systems. Collaborate closely with manufacturing operations and quality groups to align MES solutions with business needs. Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to ensure effective translation of business needs into MES solutions. Work collaboratively in a matrix organization, demonstrating excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills. Utilize Agile project management methodologies for efficient project execution, including the use of Jira. Implement and support Industry 4.0 concepts, IIOT, and MQTT protocols for enhanced data collection and analysis. Ability to drive to successful completion complex projects. Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. 8 plus years' experience in MES engineering, specifically with Inductive Ignition. Inductive Ignition Core Certification minimum Inductive Ignition Gold Certification a plus Experience with MES data process automation, design, process improvement, and project management. Strong proficiency in SCADA, MES, and IIOT systems. Ability to work in a matrix organization with excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills. Experience in Agile project management and proficiency with Jira. Exposure to highly automated manufacturing environments. Demonstrated experience collaborating with manufacturing operations and quality groups. Preferred Technology Skills: Proficient in Python scripting. Familiarity with TSQL scripting. MSSQL Server preferred Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS UI design concepts. Experience with web services. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, including OPC-UA and MQTT. PLC programming concepts.  About You: Self-starter able to drive towards goals and manage time effectively. Analytical and the ability to think on the fly. Strong skills in interpersonal, verbal, and written communication Able to work in a collaborative and in fast-paced environment. Excellent English communication skills.
