Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: M-F; 12P-8:30P Position Summary: Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas. Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously as assigned by the Environmental Services Supervisor. Responsible for using carpet cleaner throughout the community to maintain floors. Essential Functions: Carpet cleaning, shampooing, stripping, and waxing floors in the common areas throughout the community and extracting soiled areas on a routine schedule and as needed. Other areas included are the Borden Health Center, the Webster Assisted Living Center, Offices, the main dining room, and the Sunnyside house. Assembles materials and supplies from the supply room and transports them to the work area. Provides support to the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments when assigned. Conducts a security check after-hours of the entire campus prior to the end of the shift and reports any issues to the supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous cleaning experience in a similar setting is preferred. Knowledge and willingness to work with residents; ability to demonstrate considerable judgment and initiative in adapting special programs to suit the needs of residents; ability to secure the cooperation and interest of residents in initiating programs and techniques. Must know how to use common housecleaning implements, such as mops, floor waxes, and scouring pads, to keep areas clean and well-serviced. Must know how to care for equipment, how to measure cleaning solutions, and be alert to hazards. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
