Plans and implements projects by directing the associated programming and construction activities. Plans the facility space needs, goals and objectives by directing the planning and construction of capital projects. Provides procurement, management and evaluation or professional consultant services for architects, interior designers and engineers. Advises executive staff periodically regarding completion and budget status of construction projects. Assists in the development and administration of departmental budget. Coordinates the development of construction projects according to plan; monitors workflow; reviews and evaluates work products, methods, and procedures. Confers with staff and provides assistance and advice to higher level staff regarding construction and capital projects; develops, prepares, and presents recommendation and reports as requested. Inspects project's construction site to assure an adherence to drawing and specifications and acceptable quality of workmanship. Consistently reviews and recommends all aesthetic components relating to interior designs, furnishing, etc. Maintains a safe environment for clients/staff during the project's construction activity period. Attends all relevant meetings with regards to overseeing the completion of capital construction projects. Evaluate bids, proposals and contracts based on scope, schedule and costs. Coordinate VE(value engagement) meetings as appropriate Negotiate appropriate unit costs including accepted industry standards Travel on behalf of company as needed Experience Preferred 10 year(s): College degree in Construction Management. M.A. preferred; 10 years direct work experience in a D&C management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. Education Preferred Bachelors or better in Construction Management Services or related field
