Metropolitan Companies is looking for a Material Specialist to join our team! The Material Specialist is responsible for maintaining the SKU database for purchasable materials. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production planning team to ensure adequate supply. Ensure timely procurement, organization, and delivery of materials necessary for production operations. Analyze market trends and delivery systems to forecast material availability for present and future needs. Follow up with vendors on late or missing material. Analyze and identify errors presented in material database, determine the root cause and possible solutions. Work with preconstruction group to build out procurement status reports. Maintain SKU database for purchasable materials. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Competencies: Ability to organize/analyze large volumes of data. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to function well in a team environment, display professional maturity and interact with all levels of management. Ability to handle multiple priorities, including the ability to make clear and timely decisions. Requirements: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree ideal. Experience with construction materials. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Aptitude to work with minimal supervision, set goals, create, and implement action plans and monitor progress towards goals.
