POSITION: RECEPTIONIST; Donald E. Ward Executive Suite, NORTH GREENVILLE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT: OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT Position Summary: The Receptionist will provide exceptional hospitality to guests of the Donald E. Ward Executive Suite, providing a positive, welcoming environment by greeting, assisting, providing direction and information. RESPONSIBILITIES Represent North Greenville University, the Executive Suite, and the College of Business and Entrepreneurship by creating a professional, welcoming, and helpful environment. Provide excellent customer service in person, on the phone, and in written communication. Greet guests, determine the purpose of the visit and direct or escort guests to the appropriate location. Coordinate with the Office of Safety and Security as needed. Manage use of the Ellison Conference Room. Communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and guests. Receive mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and deliver or distribute items. Perform administrative and clerical support tasks. Maintain clean work environment, reception area, conference room and break room. Assist members of the executive team with projects as assigned. Collaborate with other areas within the Executive Suite and the College of Business and Entrepreneurship as well as faculty and staff regarding answering general questions related to these areas. Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements Visual Abilities: able to use a computer system. Hearing: hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, vendors, and students. Dexterity: grasping, feeling, writing, typing, and using the telephone, copier, and computer systems; prolonged periods of sitting at a desk. Mobility: open files and operate office machines; move between departments Talking: frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly. Lifting: pulling, pushing up to ten pounds of force constantly to move objects. Cognitive/Emotional: ability to critically think and concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS This position is a full-time, non-exempt position in the Office the Executive Vice President at North Greenville University. The position reports to the Senior Assistant to the Executive Vice President WORK SCHEDULE Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon. Office hours are subject to change as deemed necessary. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee. The employee will be required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties as requested by his or her supervisor.
