Schedule : June 10th – July 26th, 10:00am – 2:00pm *no camp July 1-5th, 2024 *training will be scheduled before camp begins Overview : This year’s Summer Arts Camp will be a six-week adventure into producing a musical. Students will have the opportunity to be onstage or work backstage on sets and props. Responsibilities and Duties: ● Plan and implement classroom activities that engage and educate students on the set design and construction process - work with students to design, construct, and paint set for the end-of-camp musical using basic materials. ● Communicate with other teachers regarding the overall success of the end-of-camp musical ● Lead additional artistic classes as scheduled for all students ● Participate in group camp activities, workshops, and/or onsite field trips as applicable ● Provide individualized instruction and support to students, helping them develop their artistic skills and confidence in expressing themselves through visual art. ● Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students of diverse backgrounds feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents. Requirements : ● Education: High School or equivalent (required), Bachelors preferred ● Experience with children Visual Art/Set-Design: 2 years (required) ● Minimum age of 21 ● Ability to pass a background check (criminal history/sex offenses) ● Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred, but not required) ● Preferred candidate will have experience working with minority youth.
