Our practice is excited to add another Veterinary Assistant to our team! We are looking for an individual who is good at communicating, organization, and multi-tasking, and who is ready to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would have at least 1 year of previous experience in veterinary medicine however it is not required. We are able to provide on the job training for the right candidate. This particular position will be for a VA that will function as a personal DVM assistant, predominantly assisting in examination rooms for appointments. Operating Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am-6:00 pm; Saturday 9:00 am-5:00 pm; Sunday 10:00 am-6:00 pm Anticipated schedule for this position(subject to change): Monday-Thursday 9am-4:30pm We are proud to offer our part-time teammates the following benefits: Personal Pet Care Discount Scrub allowance Flexible schedule Essential Functions: · Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery and other tasks as needed. · Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights, as well as providing client education. · Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs of the patient during surgery. · Obtain blood, stool, and other samples; perform in-hospital laboratory testing and prepare specimens for outside laboratories. · Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following proper safety procedures. · Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams. · Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments at the discretion of the veterinarian. · Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment, and lab areas; restock exam rooms with supplies. Assist other team members to keep the public areas of the practice clean; clean and maintain all medical equipment. · Demonstrate warmth, courtesy and professionalism in all interactions with clients; exercise compassion and care in all interactions with patients. · Communicate with veterinarians and practice team members including client discussions, patient plans, client concerns, etc. · Any other duties as assigned.
