Title: Wage Laundry Worker State Role Title: Wage Laundry Worker Hiring Range: $16.06 Pay Band: 1 Agency: Dept of Veterans Services Location: Davis & McDaniel Vet Care Ctr Agency Website: www.dvs.virginia.gov Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties This position is a part-time position that will work 4 days per week 7:00am - 2:30pm. Wash and dry residents clothes returning them promptly to the owners. Ensure that residents’ clothes are properly identified and report losses and damages of residents’ laundry. May adjust washer/dryer controls to accommodate variance in load size and processing time. Is required to remove non-launderable items from wash load. Organizes unit central linen room on a daily basis. Responsible for maintaining assigned area of the facility in a clean and attractive appearance. Promote sanitary conditions to prevent the spread of infection. Ensure that equipment is kept clean and in working order. Report any problems with equipment to Supervisor. Maintains appropriate records of residents clothing processed. Maintains levels of supplies utilized to effectively process workload. Notify supervisor of deficiencies or needs. A. Policies and Procedures Perform all functions of job by adhering to department and facility policies and procedures. Perform other duties associated with laundry as assigned by Textile Care Supervisor. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. Minimum Qualifications Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions. Additional Considerations High School Diploma a plus.
