Title: Tutor- Open Mathematics Lab (OML) Part-Time State Role Title: Instructor Hiring Range: $30.00/Hr Pay Band: UG Agency: Virginia Military Institute Location: Virginia Military Institute Agency Website: www.vmi.edu Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties VMI is accepting applications for part-time tutors in the Open Mathematics Lab (OML). The OML is an innovative, progressive, and open environment wherein cadets may seek direct guidance in support of their mathematics studies. The primary responsibility of OML tutors is to provide cadet tutoring for all high-demand mathematics offered by VMI, including algebra, arithmetic, pre-calculus, trigonometry, statistics and calculus. Pay is $30/hr. Work hours will be 6:00pm until 11:00pm, and based on interest and availability, one to four times a week, Sunday through Thursday. Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications include: strong math skills in algebra, arithmetic, pre-calculus, trigonometry, and calculus. Previous experience in tutoring or teaching these topics is also required. Additional Considerations Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in mathematics or related field, previous experience in tutoring or teaching probability and statistics.
