JOB SUMMARY : Provide quality customer service and lessons to students; assist Teaching Professionals in Junior Clinics. Performs front desk functions, racquet stringing, and court cleanliness duties. Provides excellent, prompt, and courteous services for members and prospective members of the Greenville Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center Tennis Center. Receives and handles telephone calls, visitors, and emails in a friendly and professional manner; directs calls to appropriate program/staff in a timely manner; records accurate and complete messages when needed. Plan, schedule, and conduct lessons and clinics with members and guests. Evaluate students’ performance; provides feedback to students and/or parents to ensure individual growth and improve skills. Support Junior Clinics and events by leading small groups or individuals as designed and requested by the Tennis Teaching Professionals. Maintain awareness of store merchandise; assist customers with merchandise inquiries. String racquets for members in the tennis house. Assist maintenance staff in the proper care of tennis courts, alerting maintenance staff immediately of any problems with the courts. Incorporate safe work practices while instructing. Promote and sell Kroc Center Tennis memberships and products including lessons, court time and equipment. Assist supervisor in planning and promoting tennis events, clinics, and tournaments at the Kroc Tennis Center. Enforce all Kroc Tennis Center rules and regulations governing the use of the facility, its equipment and other Kroc property. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other related work as required. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT: Tennis racquet Ball Machine Computer Racquet Stringing Machine MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent Minimum NTRP rating of 4.5 Preferred College Tennis playing experience. Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of tennis regulations and protocols MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to maintain a positive, professional demeanor on the courts. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language Must be able to lift, maneuver and squat a “Medium” level of dead weight, in excess of 50 lbs., for up to 20% of a scheduled work shift. Ability to stand and move quickly on tennis courts for an extended period of time.
