Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health conditions. Responsibilities: - Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal care, hygiene, and meal preparation - Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors - Support individuals in developing social skills and building healthy relationships - Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans - Provide emotional support and crisis intervention when needed - Monitor and document individual progress, behaviors, and responses to interventions - Assist with medication administration under the supervision of licensed professionals - Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in mental health or related field is preferred - Experience in Working with people with developmental disabilities or mental health conditions - Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work effectively as part of a team - Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude towards individuals with special needs - Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines Skills: - Experience working with children - Behavior management - Curriculum development - Working with people with developmental disabilities We offer training courses to become a Qualified Paraprofessional Mental Health.
