Machinist - Level 2
As a Machinist - Level 2 here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Your expertise in machining techniques and ability to interpret blueprints and specifications will ensure the production of high-quality components. Additionally, you will contribute to process improvement initiatives and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to produce precision parts
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces
• Measure, examine, and test completed components to ensure conformance to specifications
• Adjust machine controls and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances
• Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and productivity
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and guidelines
YOU MUST HAVE
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Machinist, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in operating and setting up machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
• Strong knowledge of machining techniques and ability to interpret blueprints and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
WE VALUE
• Technical certification or associate degree in machining or related field
• Experience with CNC machining
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
