This position is located in the Minnesota Department of Corrections Community Services Division and is responsible for administering and directing all aspects of client supervision and programming in those communities under the jurisdiction of the Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC). This position is responsible for numerous statewide systems and programs that involve both juvenile and adult supervision clients. These systems and programs include probation, parole, supervised release, intensive supervised release (ISR), and other forms of release, and investigative services for the district courts and the DOC Hearings and Release unit. This position also provides technical correctional assistance to county corrections agencies; administers all budget activities related to the above services; and provides managerial direction to supervisory and management staff.
Work Location: This position is eligible Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) and may need to travel approximately 10% of the time based on department business needs. To be eligible for this position, you must reside in Minnesota or within one of its boarding states . The specific Minnesota work location will be determined at the time of appointment based on department business needs and applicant availability.
Minimum Qualifications
To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held .
• Aminimumoffour (4) yearsofexperienceincommunitycorrections.
• Demonstrated leadership experience. Leadership experience can include experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead, or completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g. ELI or SLI), or comparable leadership program.
• Experienceworkingwithandextensiveknowledge ofevidence-basedpracticesinthe community correctionsfield.
• Experience, knowledge, and skills in developing, administering, and monitoring budgets.
• Doctorate degree may substitute for two years of experience; Master’s degree may substitute for 18 months of experience; Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience; Associate’s degree may substitute for six months of experience

• Excellent communication skills, and experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, including state and county officials, the public, people on supervision, and employees.
• Abilityto negotiate,develop,andadministercontractsfor services and to collaborate with criminal justice agencies and citizen boards.
• Experience leading strategic planning initiatives, developing new programs, and/or leading organizational change.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in social sciences, criminal justice, corrections, public administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory/managerialexperienceincommunitycorrections.

Additional Requirements
The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
